This weekend I had one of the best weekend I've ever had in Seoul :) We haven't done much so far, but after all the stress and the ups and downs during this first month I am happy to say we finally had a very good weekend! It all started on friday night, where I decided to take Jennifer and Merrily to Hoegi, the area right next to ours which has lots of "Pajeonjib" (Pajeon restaurants).
El pasado fin de semana tuve uno de los mejores findes que nunca he tenido en Seúl :) No hemos hecho mucho hasta ahora pero después de todo el estrés y los altibajos éste primer mes estoy contenta de poder decir que tuvimos un buen fin de semana! Todo empezó el viernes, cuando decidí llevar a Jennifer y Merrily a Hoegi, la zona al lado de la nuestra donde hay muchos "Pajeonjib" (Bares donde sirven "Pajeon").
We took the metro and we walked around Hoegi to find the restaurants we were looking for. We saw some street food in the way that made us mouthwater haha! Fried vegetables and tteokbokki, rice cakes in spicy sauce :) One of my favorite stuff around here! ♡♡
Cogimos el metro y caminamos por Hoegi para encontrar ése tipo de restaurantes que buscábamos. Vimos comida de calle por elc camino que nos hizo babear haha! Verduras fritas y tteokbokki, pasta de arroz en salsa picante :) Una de mis cosas favoritas de por aquí! ♡♡

After minutes of trying to look for a pajeonjib... I didn't find it TT'' (Sorry girls again!) My friends were starving anyway so we found another place to have dinner in. We found a very cheap and legit restaurant near Kyunghee University. I ordered udon and they ordered cheese ramyeon! XD
Después de intentar buscar un pajeonjib... No lo encontré (Lo siento chicas, otra vez!). Mis amigas se morían de hambre así que fuimos a otro sitio a cenar. Ecnontramos un restaurante decente y barato cerca de la universidad Kyunghee (vecina con mi uni). Yo pedí udon y ellas pideron ramen de queso! XD

On Saturday afternoon we went to Hongdae to have a walk with Yu Hsuan. We spent the whole morning in Seoul Arts Center with her and Li Chen since we went to see an Alphonse Mucha exposition there. We rested for a bit in our apartment and then straight to Hongdae! 8D
El sábado por la tarde fuimos a Hongdae para dar un paseo con Yu Hsuan. Pasamos toda la mañana en el Seoul Arts Center con ella y Li Chen ya que fuimos a ver una exposición de Alphonse Mucha. Descansamos un rato en el apartamento y directas a Hongdae! 8D

We had dinner in a Japanese curry place called Abiko. I picked the mildiest curry just in case! XD (And indeed, it wasn't spicy. Unlike Koreans, Japanese definitely have a sense of spicyness lol!). I ordered beef&mushroom curry rice... It was soooooo good!♡
Fuimos a un sitio de curry japonés llamado Abiko. Pedí el curry menos picante por si un caso! XD (Y efectivamente, no era picante. Los japoneses sí que tienen sentido del picante lol!) Pedí arroz con curry con ternera y setas... Qué buenooooooo! ♡

Hongdae is well known to be an area of amateur street singers. But unlike in Europe, they were performing for pleasure, not to beg for money. Most of them were teen bands or solo guys with guitars and other instruments. Many of them were performing and sorrounded by a crowd. They were all very good, but it came a point when songs were mixed up all together (since they were all too close to each other!).
Hongdae es una área conocida por la cantidad de músicos de la calle. Pero a diferencia de Europa, tocaban por placer y no por pedir dinero. La mayoría eran bandas de adolescentes o solos con guitarras y otros instrumentos. Muchos estaban tocando y rodeados de gente. Todos lo hacían muy bien, pero al estar unos tan cerca de otros las canciones se mezclaban!

Later we went to a famous ice cream store in Hongdae too, my girls bought an ice cream but I didn't feel well. We sat down right next to the store because it was too crowded to eat it inside!
Más tarde fuimos a una tienda de helados de Hongdae, mis amigas se compraron uno pero yo no me encontraba bien. Nos sentamos al lado de la tienda porqué estaba demasiado lleno para comer dentro!

On Saturday we went with ISO (International Student Organization of HUFS) to Banpo Bridge in Gangnam, one of the most famous bridges crossing the Han river famous to be a rainbow fountain. It's one of the TOP 10 things to do in the city, and it's very famous among Koreans! It soudned exciting and a great oportunity to meet even more people, so we definitely joined the event :) We crossed the city until Gangnam (Yes! The famous district you all know) and then we walked to the river.
El domingo fuimos con los de ISO (Las siglas de Organización Estudiantil Internacional de HUFS, mi uni) al puente Banpo en Gangnam, uno de los puentes más famosos que cruza el río Han, por ser una fuente de arcoiris. Es una de las cosas TOP 10 que ver en la ciudad, muy popular entre los coreanos! Sonaba bien y una gran oportunidad de conocer aun más gente, así que fuimos sin pensárnoslo. Cruzamos la ciudad hasta Gangnam (Sí! El distrito que todo debéis conocer) y caminamos un poco hasta el río.
Gangnam is known to be the financial area (but also the posh one) of Seoul.

It was beautiful, it started at 8pm there were shows each half an hour until 10pm (I think). You could see the city liggts from there, I couldn't ake a panoamic with it because I don't know how to put them together later (lol), but you might have imagined how beautiful it was :)
Fue muy bonito, empezó a las 8 y había otro show cada media hora hasta las 10 (creo). Se veía toda la ciudad iluminada, no pude hacer una panorámica con mi cámara porqué no sé montar las fotos luego (lol) pero os debéis imaginar lo bonito que era :)

It's a thing in Korea to eat chimaek while watching the rainbow fountain. "Chimaek" comes from "Chicken" (fried chicken) and "Maekju", which is beer. Good combination, don't you think?
En Corea es tradición comer "chimaek" mientras se está en la fuente de arcoiris. "Chimaek" viene de "Chicken" (pollo frito) y "Maekju", cerveza. Buena combinación, no os parece?
